Intel Atom™ Processor Z5xx series (Menlow XL) chipset End-Of-Life
Since 2007, the Menlow XL (Atom Silverthorne-XL) CPUs have been very popular in embedded applications across the Industrial, Defense, and Medical industries. Many of these applications require long-term product availability of greater than 15 years. In October 2012, Intel issued an End-Of-Life notice on the companion chips that are an integral part of the processor system. The ripple effect has resulted in the End-Of-Life notification of over 30 SBC models.
